When I wrote about the surge in traffic I got from digg and CNET News, I didn’t have any thought about writing for google. I just wanted to share my experience with those social site. Most smaller bloggers wish they can get lot of traffic from those social site. I was lucky to get more than 2000 visits from the social sites by making a comment on CNET (I also got 67 visits from stumble, but didn’t include that because it was small). After my social site experience, I decided to write a series about my experience. I wrote 3 blog post: How I gained more than 1000 visitors from Digg in 1 day, The Effects of Digg Traffic On My Blog and Direct and Indirect Way of Getting Traffic from Digg.
I first wrote Direct and Indirect Way of Getting Traffic from Digg and How I gained more than 1000 visitors from Digg in 1 day (I don’t want to spam the links again). I decided to a question on blogcatalog about if my site has too many ads. I got a reply saying that I should not worry about ads on my blog, instead I should worry about my use of keywords. I use the word “digg” more than 16 times in both post. I did a google search for the word “axioblog”. I normally rank number 1. Then I noticed, I was number 3 on google search. I edited both post by removing the word “digg”. In the next 7 hrs, I ranked back number 1 on “axioblog” search. I later made third post, the effects of digg traffic on my blog. I checked my blog rank on google search and I was back to number 3. Right now, I am number 2 on axioblog search. Before I was hit by google, I was on the 1st page for the world “axio”. Now I am nowhere. I was also on the second page for the word “tech blog with blogging tips”. Now, I am nowhere to be found.
I believe I would be back to my previous page ranking when those posts about digg have being removed from my homepage. This post will also get me sandbox because I used digg alot on this post. Google hear my cry, I am not spamming your search engine. Or I think I am.

Very interesting post. I have not experienced this personally…yet. Perhaps I can avoid it based on your information.
Well… I hope you can get your position back at Google.
