Ubuntu is an open source software. Tech gurus believe it is a safer operating system than windows. They say it is safer because it is an open source software meaning anyone can improve the software. If a flaw is seen in the open software, it is easier to fix than a coorperate software that needs the developers to fix when they can. You can download the Ubuntu from the website or order the software free from the website. But the website warns that it might take up to 10 weeks to get to you (that is what you get if it is free). Or the last option, you can buy it at Best Buy at $20. I would take the option to download it from the website. I don’t know undersand why Best buy has to sell something that is free. Well Best buy also included open office by Suns and other programs in it. Buy the software from Best buy comes with 60 days of free support. I am thinking of installing Ubuntu on my laptop. But before I do that I have to learn how to partiiton my hard drive.
